Funds raised by BRIDGEWORKS OREGON support projects that bring meaningful art and music experiences to Oregon prisons, including the ponyXpress — the latest project that assembles writers who are incarcerated and publishes their work online.
In October 2019, Luther’s Boots was selected by the AIC-run Positive Improvements Committee at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility to play outside for the entire population of the medium security side of the prison. Coffee Creek made the event special with a BBQ, ice cream, and popcorn for the women. This special “at-ease” entertainment raises sprits, makes room for a bit of joy, some dancing, and a lot of laughter. The band played til dusk and the date marked the last evening that the women were allowed evening yard time until spring.
